In the cities one of the most popular means of transeportation is the bus services. The bus stops are clearly marked. The fares are determined by stage system, which means the price depend on how faryou travel. One stage is about $1, two stages about $2 etc. When you get on the bus you should say where you want to go and the driver will tell you the price. When you wish to get off the bus there are buttons to push to alert the driver.
The hourd of operation are usually from 7am to 11pm. However buses do not go often in the evenings and on weekends.

AUCKLANDF
Bus stop signs in Auckland are clearly marked with the route numbers.
The central bus station is downtown on the corner of Quay and Custom Street.
The company is called the Yellow Bus Company and the buses are very blight yellow colour.
CHRISTCHURCHF
Cathedral Square in the centre of downtown Christchurch is starting point for all bus services.
In Christchurch the buses are red and the company is called the Strong Red Bus Company.
There are special discount tickets available except during peak hour traffic.
WELLINGTONF
The central part of Wellington uses trams instead of buses.
You can purchase a ticket called the Day Tripperwhich allows you unlimited tram rides on the day of purchase.
This can be a very economical option.
Al team services start fronm Lambton Quay on a waterfront and cover the central city.
Outside of the central city a regular bus service runs.
Wellington also has cable cars because of the many steep hills.
